Rebuke the Wind

Jesus rebukes the wind and speaks to the waves.
It’s easy to accept the cause and speak to the effects. I think we often live our lives that way. We don’t want to deal with the root issues and wonder why the waves keep coming. It is important to note that Jesus didn’t ignore the waves but he rebuked the cause of them before he dealt with the effects.
Let’s stop only pointing to the effects and start digging a little deeper and get to these things that cause our boats to be so easily rocked. When you find yourself disturbed about the same things over and over again ask the Lord “What is the cause of what I am feeling.”
