Be Still

bestill

Psalms 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God.

It's probably the hardest things for me to do. To BE still. I can get still, especially in the morning before I get going or at night when I am winding down for the night, but BEing still is difficult. Especially in a world full of notifications and continuous communication threads, in a world that our work is always in front of us...
it's difficult to be still.

I notice that if I can escape from all of the madness of my day and set aside moments to connect my heart with my Heavenly Father, to pause, selah, rest in his presence, and reconnect and realign my heart, I feel more...alive. It is then that I am instantly energized, refreshed, at peace and even more efficient at my work. It's in those moments that I remember "He Is." He is there. In the moment, He is present. He has actually been there all along perhaps waiting for me to just tune in. Waiting for me to remain in constant fellowship with him. "He is God.” He is powerful, in charge at the moment, through the day, and all the time. It's easy to forget especially when we forget to be still.

I encourage you to find pockets in your day, a closet you can get into if you will, without a cell phone, in the quiet alone for even 30 seconds and BE. Just sit in his presence, align your heart, and know He is God.

John 15:4
Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine,
and
you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
